This week, both starting on Tuesday, will see the 2011 Intel Developer Forum and the Microsoft BUILD Conference. At the former we can expect to see various glimpses of future technology coming from Intel, but in particular details on the 22 nm shrink of the current Sandy Bridge processors called Ivy Bridge slated for 2012 and maybe some details on the follow-up processor Haswell. The big news at the latter will be further details about Windows 8, the successor operating system to Windows 7 (which I use).
Taken together, the two should paint a pretty clear picture about what the mainstream computing landscape of 2012 will look like. Looking forward to it.
